Books I Read: January 2011
As part of my 100 Books in 2011 project (email me if you’d like to get on the Google Group), I’ve decided to wrap up each month with a list of the books I’ve read.  I will also write one or two sentence reviews, because these books were once someone’s life work and I want to respect that by sharing my deep thoughtz. Recommended books are starred! I read 11 books in...

The Obvious Choice
Nick and I ate at a really good Italian place in the neighborhood tonight.  There was a big party happening in the back and their dessert table was right next to us. What was on that table?  A cake that said, Happy Christening, Michael Anthony!  The cake was decorated with blue fondant— —to look like a Tiffany’s box.  White bow and everything.  Super relig AND we all know...

The Murderer's Snow Day
My neighbor is a rumored murderer.  It’s probably illegal to suggest someone’s murdery guilt on the Internet, so I won’t get into any details.  I will, however, tell you that he also supposedly has a son with disabilities that he keeps locked on the third floor.  I have seen the blinds ripple when I have been standing on the street.  WHAT! (Note: My source is also insane.) ...

WatchWatch
I work at a private school, but I still live and die by Mike Bloomberg’s ruling on snow days.  We finally got one today! Here is a little video (40 seconds) I made A HUNDRED YEARS AGO with Ramsey about Mike Bloomberg, and his true constituency: turtles.

arbucklesketch: Did you miss Monday’s show?  You can watch our videos on UCB Comedy. This sketch was a submission from 7th grader David Mason, and was “delivered” to us by writer Eric Cunningham.  Starring the full Arbuckle cast (in order of appearance): Marcy Jarreau, Alison Bennett, Marcus Bishop-Wright, Devlyn Corrigan, Pam Murphy and Michael Hartney. Just a reminder to follow Arbuckle on...

Note: This sketch is NSFW or CF. (Not safe for work, or the eyes of my conservative family members.) This is the first sketch I wrote for Arbuckle, my new UCB sketch team, starring the amazing Michael Hartney.  If you’re not hip to the comedy world, you probably know Michael from his great laugh in an AT&T commercial that is ALWAYS on TV right now.  He is awesome and now that...

Dear Daniel Lawson,
You are the costume designer for The Good Wife.  I would like all the accessories and clothing worn by Diane (Christine Baranski) placed in a garbage bag and placed on my doorstep.  You don’t even have to do any dry cleaning; I’ll do it on the cheap the next time I go home to Pennsylvania.  That leopard trench coat?  That Kenneth Lane lion necklace?  ALL that bonkers jewelry?  In the...

Last night, Nick looked at me and said, “Is Liz Lemon doing Edie Beale?”  And, if you watched, later in the episode Liz confessed she was doing “Drew Barrymore’s impression of that crazy lady.” Pretty much all my favorite things in one show.
